UD Las Palmas transfer Galarreta to RCD Mallorca

UD Las Palmas and Real Mallorca have reached a deal to transfer Íñigo Ruiz de Galarreta, although he will stay at the club on loan this season. Mallorca reserves the right to bring him to their squad from January 2020 onwards.

UD Las Palmas have reached an agreement with RCD Mallorca to transfer Ruiz de Galarreta, but he will continue to play for the yellows this season. Mallorca may wish to exercise their right to take him back in the winter transfer window. 

Iñigo Ruiz de Galarreta (Eibar, 6th August 1993) arrived at UD las Palmas las season from FC Barcelona, on a four year contract. In his first season at the club he was the fifth most used player, featuring in 35 matches.

He started out in the youth set-up at Athletic Club de Bilbao, who he played for in the Europa League. Galarreta also had a spell on loan at CD Mirandés (2013-2014) until he suffered a knee injury. He later played on loan at Real Zaragoza (2014-2015), playing on 41 occasions for them, including the play off match for promotion to the first division against Las Palmas, in La Romareda (3-1).

In the 2015-2016 season he was part of the CD Leganés side that gained promotion to the first division. Once he was released by Athletic, he joined CD Numancia (2016-2017), where he was awarded player of the season. The following year he went to FC Barcelona’s second team. Galarreta made his full debut with Barça, managed by Ernesto Valverde, in a pre-season friendly in South Africa. He played a total of 27 games for Barcelona reserves, scoring a single goal.
