Pako Ayestarán: "We need to continue to work hard and keep up our good spells for longer"

UD Las Palmas’ manager Pako Ayestarán, in the press conference following defeat in Villarreal, said "We played a good first half in which we can take a lot of positives, but once we conceded the first goal we were unable to keep things going". He continued: "We created many problems for Villarreal to play down the inside channels, we knew how strong they were, and we logically knew it was going to be hard".

Las Palmas go down to their fifth successive defeat (4-0)

Las Palmas lost out once again this morning in Villarreal (4-0) and have now not won for five games. The team led by Pako Ayestarán let in all the goals in the second half. Away team player Oussama Tannane left the field injured. Unión Deportiva Las Palmas continues on its downward spiral. A decent first half performance gave way to another disappointing second half and another hatful of goals conceded. Ayestarán’s men showed no lack of effort, but nothing came off for them. Villarreal, who were much the more confident side, deservedly came home with the three points.

Pako Ayestarán: "We are ready to give it a go"

Las Palmas’ Basque manager,, Pako Ayestarán, is confident of his team’s chances in their upcoming encounter, saying "we have worked out in our minds the game we have to play in Villarreal and we are ready to give it a go". He recognised that their rivals “are a tough side, who have a clear idea about what they want".

Las Palmas lose their way and go down to another home defeat (2-5)

UD Las Palmas received a hatful of goals in the Estadio Gran Canaria against Celta de Vigo, with three goals by Iago Aspas. The yellows even conceded two goals with an extra player on the field, following the sending off of away goalkeeper Rubén Blanco. Vitolo and Remy scored the late goals for the home team.

Pako Ayestarán, coach of UD Las Palmas, said today at a press conference that "the team is prepared and with options to win the match". The Basque coach confirmed that the absence of Ximo Navarro is a "technical decision". Ayestarán has said about the rival of tomorrow that it is a team "with good exit of ball".
