Juan Manuel Rodríguez addressed the media ahead of the match corresponding to the tenth round of LALIGA HYPERMOTION, which will see UD Las Palmas face CD Castellón this Saturday at the Gran Canaria Stadium. The yellow coach assessed the team's response during his first days in charge, the preparation for the match, and the key aspects to tackle this new stage.
These were some of his statements:
"I've been in the position for three days, but I see the players are quite enthusiastic. They have been grasping concepts in a very effective way. Morale improves with each passing day. I am very, very happy with them."
"Everything depends on having balance, both in defense and attack. I am looking for that balance. I have to find the formulas to try to ensure that doesn't happen."
"I have asked the team for discipline, seriousness, and order. From there, the players are capable of many things. But without those three premises, it is difficult to achieve a unified group, a solid block that can move forward. Those are the fundamental bases I mentioned upon my arrival."
"No one has a guaranteed spot. It has to be earned day by day. I look for those in the lineup who are in the best moment and most suitable, considering the appropriate morale of each of them. We have to ensure we are a group, not just one player."
"I am very, very, very demanding. From there, everything is being understood. The commitment has to be the same as mine. The players will have to be very, very, very committed."
