As had happened a week earlier in La Orotava, UD Las Palmas managed to go into halftime at Barranco Seco with a slight lead on the scoreboard. It was the result of a corner kick strategy goal, scored by Manu Fuster after a cross from Iván Gil and an initial deflection by Mika Mármol.

That goal marked the difference on the scoreboard, although on the field, the match was also different from the one played in the Teide Trophy. The prevailing heat on the Saturday morning was a factor the players had to contend with during the friendly.

Las Palmas enjoyed a greater number of longer possessions. Their ball movement from the back managed to overcome the pressing attempts of the blanquiazules on many occasions. Thus, the match, with the 1-0 scoreline, unfolded without major incidents during the first 45 minutes.

Although Dinko Horkas had to show his reflexes at the half-hour mark with the best chance for the Tenerife side, through Maikel Mesa. The former Las Palmas player managed to connect a good header from a cross on the right, but the Croatian goalkeeper denied him the goal by reaching the ball on the goal line.

The home team sealed the friendly in the early stages of the second half with two more goals. Iván Gil played a key role in both. The 2-0 was his, with a flawless free-kick that sent the ball over the wall and into the net near the post. The 3-0 came from a cross by Iván Gil, which Mika Mármol headed in.

Tenerife scored their goal in the final moments, once again through Fran Sabina after an attack by his team down the right flank.
