Uruguayan defender Mauricio Lemos has a contract with Las Palmas that runs until June 2021. He sets off this afternoon for Italy. Tomorrow morning he undergoes a medical exam at Sassuolo’s sports facilities, to round off a preliminary agreement reached by both clubs. Once he has passed the medical, both clubs will officially announce the loan deal and the conditions of the contract.

Lemos arrived at UD Las Palmas in the 2015/2016 season from Russian side Rubín Kazán. UD Las Palmas acquired the player’s sports and economic rights in May 2016, having bought the player outright in the contract signed on 29th January 2016.

Mauricio Lemos has played a total of 62 official matches for the yellows, scoring five goals in this period. So far this season he has clocked up 1,262 minutes in 16 league games (making him the fifth most used player) and 180 minutes in 2 Spanish Cup matches.
