Pepe Mel: "This game keeps us in line with the way we have been playing"

Las Palmas manager does not want to focus too much on his side's league position, rather "we just need to think we are on 31 points. We played a really good game today against a very good opponent".

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

Pepe Mel assessed his team's victory tonight against Elche, and explained that "the half-time score was unfair given the way the game had gone", adding "we knew that as soon as we got a goal back they would get nervous and we were able to take advantage of that".

"This games keeps us in line with how we have been playing. We have great personality" he pointed out. Pepe Mel is gradually getting players back to fitness, and today Araujo was able to play his first minutes of the league season, his manager saying "that is really good news. Having him back makes us better".

He ended by saying they now need to turn their attention to their midweek cup game and then to their next league opponents, Rayo Vallecano. "They are a really tough side. The way they play means it will be a different type of match compared to today's match".
