Luis García Fernández (06/03/1981, Oviedo) will take charge of UD Las Palmas during the 2025/26 season, with the option to continue for an additional campaign if the team achieves promotion to La Liga.

After his time as a professional footballer, Luis García began his coaching career in the youth ranks of CF Damm. In the 2022/23 season, he led RSC Inter FC, a stage that allowed him to gain further experience at the senior level. He later moved to RCD Espanyol.

He took charge in a difficult context and, despite his efforts, was unable to prevent relegation after a season started by Diego Martínez. Already in the Segunda División, he managed a total of 26 matches and earned 24 points in the first 14 rounds, leaving the team in the playoff zone and just three points away from direct promotion.

Subsequently, he began a new chapter in Qatari football, taking charge of the national team, from which he parted ways in early May.

Familiar with LaLiga both as a player and as a coach, Luis García joins UD Las Palmas with the advantage of his deep knowledge of Spanish football.
