Las Palmas continues in the Cup with goals from Kirian and Manu Fuster (1-3)

UD Las Palmas advances in the Copa del Rey after defeating RSD Alcalá (1-3) in a match that required extra time to be decided. Two goals by Kirian Rodríguez and a subsequent one by Manu Fuster secured the victory for the team from Gran Canaria in Alcalá de Henares.

The first match of the Copa del Rey allowed Juan Manuel Rodríguez to give Nicholas Opoku the opportunity to wear the Gran Canaria club's jersey for the first time, in addition to fielding a renewed starting lineup with goalkeeper Adri Suárez and the return of Ale García among the most notable changes.

The first half featured the local team's goalkeeper, De Castro, as the protagonist, with several high-level saves that denied UD Las Palmas a goal. The goalkeeper intervened in a one-on-one with Ale García, blocked close-range shots from Jefté twice and Elías Romero, and also controlled a shot from Andrés Rodríguez near the post.

In this initial phase of the match, Jeremía Recoba entered in the 23rd minute, replacing his teammate Ale García. The Uruguayan showed creativity, delivering passes that allowed Elías and Jefté to face the Alcalá goalkeeper one-on-one.

The most critical moment for the islanders occurred in the 20th minute when a play by Alcalá ended with Kevin shooting from the heart of the area. However, the Ghanaian Opoku deflected the ball to a corner with his leg, sparing his teammate Adri Suárez from trouble.

Kirian Rodríguez, however, did not miss at the start of the second half. The captain from Candelaria managed to place the ball in the local team's net, surprising them with a run from the second line to finish off a pass from Andrés Rodríguez. The 0-1 finally gave meaning to the efforts of Juan Manuel Rodríguez's team, which had made two substitutions at halftime.

However, the match went into extra time as the team from the Madrid province managed to equalize with a goal from Luis Simón. The forward took advantage of a rebound off the post to beat Adri Suárez and once again throw the knockout round into uncertainty.

In the first quarter of extra time, Kirian Rodríguez, with a direct free kick, and Manu Fuster, after a pass from Jefté, made it 1-3 and restored calm to UD Las Palmas.

De Castro, as in the first half, was once again the main player for his team with new saves after plays and shots from Jefté and Mateo Acimovic. However, the score did not change further.
