Albert: "The squad has a lot of potential and fits with the style of play we want."

Albert was introduced this Thursday as the new coach of UD Las Palmas. The coach highlighted the potential of the squad, the importance of restoring the players' confidence, and his intention to maintain a recognizable style of play. Additionally, he called for the support of the fans and assured that the team will work to bring joy to its supporters.

"First, as a goal, we need to stay in the category, that is the first objective and, from there, be ambitious and look upwards and grow. I see a lot of potential in the squad, I think it is a squad that mixes youth very well with more experienced players, players suited to the style we want to play. So I think, obviously, it is important to recover key players who are injured, also to restore a bit of confidence in some players, and work hard to do very well, because I see a lot of potential in the squad."

"The message is to ask them to support us, to support the team, to give the team their backing because, as Kirian said the other day, I think it is very important for the players, above all, to feel this confidence, to feel this encouragement from the fans. What I can promise them is that we are going to work hard, that we are going to try to make them enjoy watching the kind of football that is so loved here, right? Offensive football, associative football, proactive football, but, above all, that they give confidence to me, to the players, to my staff, and that they support the team."

"I think I have grown a lot as a coach there in France because the second division in France is a bit different from here. It is very physical, there are a lot of individual duels, it is a category with a lot of transitions. So, coming from a coach like me, who comes a bit from the Barça school, from this positional play, going there enriches you. I think I have grown a lot as a coach in terms of defense, transitions, overcoming pressure in one-on-one duels. For me, the experience has been very good, getting to know this other kind of football, and I think I am much more prepared than I was two years ago."

"The goal is, as I answered in the first question, to stay in the Second Division, but to be ambitious and not rule anything out. That is to say, obviously, the first thing is to be calm and then, when we are calm, look upwards because I think there is potential to do well. That is the goal."

"The positive thing I see is that it is a team and players who are already used to this, who have been playing something similar. They are model players, both those who have been here for many years and the new signings or the younger players. So, I think the integration and adaptation will be quicker, but, obviously, every process needs its time. Training time, video sessions, talks with them are needed. There is still a lot of the season left and there is time for this process to succeed, but, obviously, there is a match on Monday and processes in professional football need to be accelerated as much as possible."

"For me, it is a privilege to come to a historic team like Unión Deportiva Las Palmas. For me, it is not a Second Division team, for me, Las Palmas is a historic team in Spain, which has been, I don't know if 32 or 33 seasons in the First Division, which has spectacular facilities and a spectacular fan base. For me, it was a step forward in my career, coming to a great club like Unión Deportiva, and that is what attracted me to come. I was very clear about it and I am very happy."
