UD Las Palmas secured their first preseason friendly victory in Marbella. Two goals from Taisei Miyashiro and another from Jefté Betancor, all in the second half, allowed the Gran Canaria team to come from behind against Unión Leiria (3-2) at the Banús Football Center.

It was a rollercoaster afternoon for the Gran Canaria team. Las Palmas started the match uphill, as in the first minute Juan Muñoz scored the opening goal for Unión Leiria. The play resulted from a quick action down the left wing and a subsequent dispute in the area between Alex Suárez and the attacker Pablo, who fell in the box. The Portuguese team successfully broke the advanced line of the yellow defenders.

The defensive problems for UD Las Palmas during the first half did not end there in this new friendly match in Marbella. Before the 20th minute, after several more attempts, Leiria scored a second goal with a play similar to the first, this time finished by the striker Pablo.

The yellows were not showing good sensations on the field at that point, struggling to contain their last defensive line and lacking depth in their play to threaten goalkeeper Christian Joel.

The halftime score was 0-2, with the added setback of Víctor Villote being substituted after injuring himself in a fall during the final moments of this phase. But the scenario completely changed at the start of the second half. UD's pressure and attacking intent paid off with two goals from Miyashiro in just 3 minutes.

The 1-2 came from an attacking combination, which the Japanese player resolved with an excellent mid-height cross shot from the edge of the box. The 2-2 equalizer was crafted with a cross from the left by Clemente, which the Japanese Miyashiro headed in with a remarkable leap and precise header.

The match was entirely different in the second half, with a more inspired and intense UD causing numerous problems for the defense and goalkeepers of the Portuguese side.

And that dominance finally bore fruit with Jefté's goal, heading in the 3-2 after a precise cross from the tireless Valentín Pezzolesi.
