García Pimienta: "In this category, it's not easy to win or play as the team is doing, and we're achieving it without making excuses."

The coach of UD Las Palmas emphasized that the match against Rayo "will be very competitive and difficult; we will have to fight a lot because it's a game with many individual duels and set pieces."

García Pimienta appeared in the press room at Ciudad Deportiva, before the final training session that UD Las Palmas will carry out to conclude the preparation for the visit to Rayo Vallecano. The yellow coach began his intervention by stating, "Rayo has a very experienced coach, with a very similar idea to what the club has been doing in previous years," and added, "They are not in a good streak in Vallecas, but they compensate for it with away victories. They are solidary and have players to play associatively."

Here are some of his statements:

"The team is having an incredible season, with Mika Mármol I had no doubt because I knew him. He has taken a step further in his career and has adapted perfectly to our style. When things are going well, everyone reinforces much more, he has a lot of football ahead, and he is in the learning process. I am convinced that by working, he will achieve important things."

"Manu Fuster is a very good player, but he belongs to another team. As I have always said, if there is any market opportunity that improves and helps us, I would be delighted."

"I notice that opponents congratulate us for what we are doing; we have players performing at an excellent level. UD Las Palmas has earned respect for what it is doing with the clubs in Primera."

"We don't know if we will have news about Julián today; I see it as difficult. The club has done what it had to do, and we have to fight it. It is an excessive punishment."

"Nuke has not informed me that he wants to leave; it is true that this season he has had few minutes. He was very important in achieving promotion and is one of the captains; he is very good and crucial for the team. I understand that there are clubs interested in him, but I would like him to stay for what he contributes."

"The players' mental state is important; they know that I try to be fair and that they have to be prepared so that when the opportunity comes, they can show that they are ready."

"It is commendable to defend so far from our goal and with such an advanced defense. The players believe in that way of playing, and it's working well for now. It is one of our hallmarks."
