Fábio Silva: "The message to the fans is to stay with us until the end, because we're going to give everything to keep Las Palmas in La Liga."
The UD Las Palmas striker said in a press conference: “We're going to prepare for the match in the best possible way to get the three points.”
UD Las Palmas player Fábio Silva spoke to the press on Wednesday morning, ahead of the clash against Atlético de Madrid. The forward said: “I’ll try to score against Atlético, I always try. But the most important thing is the three points.” He added: “We want another win, which would be really important for us heading into the final stretch of the season.”
Here are some of his other statements:
“We want to do it, and you can feel in every game the desire we have to make things happen. The fans deserve it, because they’ve been with us from the start. We saw it in the match against Getafe — the support was incredible, and the energy we felt from them during the celebration was amazing.”
“For Saturday’s game, we hope the Gran Canaria Stadium is full, because we need the support to get as many points as possible between now and the end of the season.”
“Wherever I go, I try to give my best. Since I arrived, I’ve received a lot of love, and I try to give that joy back on the pitch. I owe that to the fans, because I felt joy and confidence from the moment I arrived. I have to give them something in return, and I’m going to do my best.”
“I said from the beginning that I feel very comfortable here, with a special kind of treatment. Sometimes I tell Luis Helguera and the president that I’ll come back one day. I hope I can do that in the future, because Las Palmas is a club that has given me everything — it gave me back the joy of feeling important and happy again, and that’s something I won’t forget. That’s why I’m going to try to be better until the end, to help the team the way I should. I’d love to come back one day.”
“I really like playing with Oli, because we have a strong understanding and connection, which you can see in the last few games where things have been going really well for both of us.”
