UD Las Palmas and Valencia strike loan deal with Nacho Gil
UD Las Palmas and Valencia CF today reached agreement on a loan deal for winger Nacho Gil until 30th June 2018. The latest yellows’ signing arrives in Gran Canaria this evening at 23.30. Tomorrow he will undergo a medical at the Hospital Perpetuo Socorro
22 year old Nacho Gil belongs to Valencia CF and is considered one of the emerging stars from their youth setup, since starting out as a seven year old with them. In his first year at under 18 level he won the best player award at the Dubai International Tournament. He has since been developing his career with second-string team Valencia Mestalla, in Segunda División B in the Spanish league.
He is a skilful winger who is able to take on defenders, and he can play in any attacking role, either out wide or in behind the strikers. He can upset defences, plays an intense game, and stands out for being a good provider of goal scoring chances.
During the 2016-17 season, Nacho Gil, the brother of Deportivo player Carles Gil, was one of the star performers at Valencia Mestalla after helping himself to seven goals, and being a key member of the team that played in the promotion play-offs to the Liga 123, the Spanish second division. Nacho Gil made his first team debut last season against Deportivo Alavés and then had minutes against CD Leganés.
In May 2017 he signed a new contract with Valencia until 2020, but will be with UD Las Palmas on loan until 30th June 2018. Nacho Gil featured in all four games between the two sides this season, both in the league and the Spanish Cup.
