Edward Edier Cedeño Guerrel was officially presented this morning as a new midfielder for UD Las Palmas at the Ciudad Deportiva facilities. Speaking about his arrival, sporting director Luis Helguera said, "He’s a player we’ve been following for a while. He has a lot of potential, and we strongly believe in his development and what he can bring to the team."
"I’m very happy for the opportunity to be here. It’s an honor for me to become the first Panamanian to join UD Las Palmas," Cedeño said in his first words as a player, adding: "Las Palmas is a historic club, and I understand the responsibility that comes with wearing this shirt. It’s an important step in my career."
"I did well in the Primera RFEF, and the opportunity to come here came up. I can help the team — I have a lot of energy, and I’m very defensive-minded," the player emphasized, also noting that his role models are "Busquets and Casemiro."
Regarding his time with the Panama national team: "I’ve been called up a few times and made my debut. I know the whole country is following me and supporting me, and I want to represent them in the best way possible."
"I don’t feel pressure from comparisons — they help me stay focused. What I want is to do well and bring a lot of joy to the club and the fans," he concluded.
