Paco Jémez was clear about his team’s elimination tonight in Valencia, saying "we need to put this game behind us. The Cup is over for this year and we now need to turn our attention to the league", adding "my players ran as hard as they could, some of whom haven’t played competitively for a long time, and the physical difference between ourselves and Valencia was clearly evident".

"Often we play the wrong type of football for my liking, as we are not competitive, we have a lot of the ball but we don’t threaten the opponent’s goal" the manager said of his team’s playing style. He stressed "we need a change of mentality and playing style, and fast".

Referring to how his team are going to approach their week away from the island, he said: "we’ve got a lot of work to do and to make many changes, I knew that a week isn’t much time to change things, but those of us who are here have to give everything we can" he concluded in the press room at Mestalla.
