Paco Herrera: “The team is moving on, we just need a victory”

Las Palmas trainer said he felt optimistic “for the players’ performance and quality in training. The team is training hard and although there is not much of the season left, we just need a win to move on”.

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

Paco Herrera started the press conference by assessing his side’s current situation, and made it clear that “we need to string together two wins, and this starts tomorrow, against a tough rival”. As for the side he will be putting out against Sporting, he stated: “I don’t want to change the starting line-up because that would be of no help to us”, while he recognised that “the only doubt I have is with Mantovani as he has problems with his back”.

“Sporting have a lot of good players, and with the arrival of José Alberto they started really well, although they are not doing so well right now” he stated. As for his opponents’ playing style he said “they like to play the ball around, they move forward quickly and get into clear attacking positions”.

Herrera mentioned how his latest signing was getting on, saying “Srnic has been training hard for a couple of days. He is someone we expect great things of”. The manager rounded of by reminding those present of the figure of Enrique Castro “Quini”, a colleague and friend, who won’t be leading the expedition for our visitors this Sunday (he passed away last season).
