Maikel Mesa: "I think I'm in the best moment of my career"
"I am very happy to be here, I think I am arriving at the best moment of my career in Las Palmas", said Maikel Mesa during his presentation as a new yellow player in the press room of the Gran Canaria Stadium and thanked for the shown interest.
Maikel Mesa landed this morning in Gran Canaria and was presented to the media as a new yellow player after passing a medical examination. In his speech, he emphasized that "it is an important step in my career," while declaring, "I had other offers, but my main goal was to be with UD Las Palmas, who has been interested in me since Juveniles."
"I talked to the coach, he gave me the idea of the game and what I can contribute to the team," he said, referring to the manager of the yellow bank, Manolo Jiménez. On the occasion of his recent arrival, he will not be able to start in the starting lineup and Mesa assures that he will find it hard to watch him from the stands like any other player, but he wishes to "be in the green soon".
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife-born midfielder said: "My team is UD Las Palmas and if I score in the derby I will celebrate it". Regarding the team presenting the yellow team for this season, Maikel confirmed that "by name the team has to be up, but the important thing is to make a good team."
