Luis García appeared this Friday at the Sports City, before the team sets off tomorrow for the trip to Gijón. Regarding the opponent, the yellow coach stated: "I expect a good, competitive opponent as Real Sporting always is, in a passionate football stadium. It's a very nice atmosphere to compete well." "They are in a good moment just like us, we are very eager to play a great match," he added.

These were some of his statements:

"We have faced the week with a lot of energy and desire to improve, continue correcting mistakes, and enhancing our strengths. It's a frenetic week, there is a lot of work but the players have assimilated it well."

"Mentally, Sandro is at his peak, he is always very connected on a mental level. He is close, he still has a little way to go but we are eager for him to be with us to have one more option."

"In all the matches we've played so far, we haven't repeated the starting eleven, so the team is alive. Obviously, without the Cup, there are fewer minutes to distribute, but they must be ready for when their turn comes."

"Sporting's absences are what they are, but we also have important absences like Viera, Marc Cardona, or Sandro. You have to try to imagine a bit what the opponent might do in both defensive and offensive phases, in that sense you have an idea of the game plan that might be, but it will never be as exact as if they had all their players available."

"The team is in the same state as before the Cup, we cannot depend solely on one result, we have to maintain a strong mentality. I am lucky to have an incredible group mentally. Losing the other day didn't please us but we understand that it is part of the sport and we have to move forward."

"Mika is going to travel. He is fine, he has had a good week. We didn't want to take the risk of traveling to Extremadura, we hope everything goes well and he goes down to Gijón without any problems."

"For me, this match is special, but I don't play. The only thing I want is for UD to win."
