Luis García: "We are very focused on playing a great match in a field that will be anything but easy."

The yellow coach highlighted in a press conference, before facing the visit to Extremadura, that "the objective is the same in the League and the Cup, to improve every day on an individual and collective level and see how far it takes us."

Luis García appeared this Monday at the Ciudad Deportiva to analyze the first round of the Copa del Rey, which will see the yellow team face CD Extremadura tomorrow at the Francisco de la Hera. "We are going with enthusiasm, the Copa is a beautiful competition that pits teams from different categories against each other. We are going with the idea of playing a good match and advancing to the next round against a historic rival that, during my younger years, was in the First Division, and I have very fond memories of it," highlighted the coach.

These were some of his statements:

"They are leaders in their category, and they will surely make it very difficult for us. The goal is the same in the league and in the Copa: to improve every day on an individual and collective level and see how far we can go."

"I’m not going to talk about the league; I’m 100% focused on the Copa. Both the rival and the competition deserve a lot of respect, and we are going to focus on that."

"Personally, I don’t like to talk about rotations; we are going to field the best team. The players are fully prepared to seize the opportunity. We are very focused on playing a great match in a stadium that will be anything but easy."

"I’m fortunate to have super professional players who are proud to wear the UD Las Palmas jersey in any competition. This is a moment to do things well and keep growing."

Extremadura is the leader of its category, and that is no coincidence. It’s a team that will press a lot and attacks the area very well. Every year in the Copa, we see that it’s not easy to beat teams from other categories.

"Most teams don’t release their squad lists, but regardless of that, there are some media outlets that reveal them, which doesn’t help the club or the players at all. We’ve made this decision to keep our cards close to our chest regarding what the rivals might see."

"We have to go with maximum energy. There’s no doubt that the rival’s motivation is also important, but it cannot be greater than ours."
