UD Las Palmas and Luis García part ways, bringing an end to a chapter that began in the summer of 2025 with the arrival of the Asturian coach to the yellow bench.

During his time leading the first team, Luis García spearheaded a sports project that kept the Gran Canaria team among the most competitive in LaLiga Hypermotion. In the 2025/26 season, UD Las Palmas completed an outstanding regular phase with 73 points, the result of 20 victories, 13 draws, and 9 defeats, results that allowed the team to compete in the promotion play-off to the First Division.
