The match against CS Marítimo de Funchal served Manolo Jiménez to further adapt his team. In the starting eleven, four new additions; Lemos, Cala, Rafa Mir and Rubén Castro, as well as the return of Araujo, another player, more mature and eager to be successful again. The yellow team played their sixth preseason game after the two games played on their UK tour. The game was interrupted for more than five minutes by the injury of Portuguese goalkeeper Charles, who had to be replaced after a collision with a teammate.

The Portuguese team showed good manners with the ball printed for a large part of the first half of a very slow game, but did not manage to reach the goal of Nauzet Perez. Las Palmas was very clear about his football; Javi Castellano, Vicente Gómez intercepted the ball and quickly sought out the attacker trident formed by Rafa Mir, Araujo and Rubén Castro.

The UD Las Palmas opened the scoring in the 26th minute after a standard situation, A foul of Momo was led by Juan Cala. The players get more rhythm, they risk more things with the ball. The Portuguese goalkeeper Amir showed a header from Araujo and another shot from outside of Rubén Castro. The yellows were better during the first half because they deserved to go to the other with a bigger advantage. The team is taking shape, growing in concepts and self-confidence, especially in defense.

In the second part they debuted with the yellow team Sacko and Christian Rivera. With the change, the game won in tempo and Maritimo showed a little more, in which they arrived closer to Raúl Fernández goal.
