The Catalonian manager, in a statement he made to this official website, underlined following the news of his sacking the gratitude he felt for having had the chance to train Las Palmas’ first team for a second time, a gratitude that he extends "to my technical staff and players, for the treatment they gave me, their commitment, professionalism and a highly satisfactory period of sharing the dressing room with them".

Herrera requested to the club that he didn’t wish to hold a farewell press conference “because I think it is better to step aside and not take up any more time". Paco Herrera also said he wished the team "all the very best for the rest of the season. I still believe they can reach the playoffs, as in many games we were really close to winning positions which unfortunately resisted us, sometimes due to circumstances that are difficult to control".
