UD Las Palmas wins at Riazor and enters play-off mode (1-2)

Luis García's players achieved the goal they set out for when they traveled to La Coruña this weekend. They won at Riazor (in front of 29,795 spectators) against Deportivo, with goals from Kirian and Marvin Park. With the victory, they reached 73 points and qualified for the promotion playoffs as fifth in the final standings. They will now face Málaga in the first round.

UD Las Palmas approached the match with a lineup whose players had been regulars in recent games, with the already known absences missing from the clash.

The yellows started with the intention of steering the match in the direction required by their aspirations. Miyashiro, on two occasions, managed to surprise with incursions through the center of the Galician defense. The first was disallowed for offside, and the second, in the 8th minute, ended with a goal by Kirian Rodríguez to make it 0-1 on the scoreboard.

The player from Tenerife, captain on the Coruña afternoon, had rallied his teammates in the locker room, reminding them of the importance of completing the long work the team had done during the months of the regular competition. He followed his words with the opening goal, scored with composure and experience.

Las Palmas then tried to control the pace of the match without giving up on approaching Parreño's domain. And it was in this way that, in the 17th minute, Marvin Park scored one of the best goals of the yellow season, with a shot from the edge of the box that went into the top corner to make it 0-2 and heighten the excitement of the Gran Canaria fans.

Before the first hydration break, Deportivo managed to narrow the scoreline when forward Zakaria capitalized on his team's first real chance. The visiting defense lacked more determination to stop the play, which ended with a cross-shot into Horkas' net.

The 1-2 scoreline was reflected at halftime, generating hope but still leaving the uncertainty of the final day of the regular season unresolved.

At the start of the second half, Cristian Herrera and Jesé had two chances that did not materialize in either direction. But the next opportunity for the islanders was even clearer, following a pass from Viera to Jesé. The forward managed to reach the area, but goalkeeper Parreño snatched the ball from him at the last moment.

The rest of the match had more tension than action, as the uncertainty in the scoreline remained until the end in a festive atmosphere among the Galician fans. However, the visiting players held strong with the ball and managed to reach the 94th minute with a narrow lead that proved sufficient for their goals.
