Las Palmas falls 0-1 in the first leg of the play-off, although everything will be decided at La Rosaleda.

Everything will be decided at La Rosaleda, although the tie has become very difficult for UD Las Palmas. The first leg of the playoff was won by Málaga, with a 0-1 victory at the Estadio de Gran Canaria, in front of 27,128 spectators. The yellow team gave their all on the pitch but couldn't find solutions to at least equalize Larrubia's lone goal. Half of the promotion journey is complete, and the outcome will be determined on Málaga's turf, where the visitors will need a two-goal advantage to stay in the promotion race.

Pejiño was the new addition to the lineup designed by Luis García Fernández for the first elimination round against Málaga. The player from Barbate appeared in the official photo, replacing Estanis Pedrola in a match where, along with his teammates, he failed to find the rhythm of the game, especially in the first half.

Las Palmas only managed to trouble their opponent with a few deep plays by Marvin Park, although his crosses did not find the position of the finishers. These were incisive plays, but the finishing touch was missing.

Málaga also proved dangerous with their counterattacks, generated by incisive pressing in the yellow team's half. Horkas had slightly more work to do in the first half than his counterpart Herrero. The most delicate moment came with a shot from the edge of the area by the striker Chupe, which forced the Croatian to make a save and send the ball out for a corner.

Las Palmas approached the second half with a reorganization of ideas and better sensations. They enjoyed a few creative minutes in which they generated three chances to open the scoring. Herrero denied two of them with saves from shots by Kirian and Jesé, while the Japanese player Miyashiro struck powerfully but narrowly missed the Málaga goal.

The game was taking a turn when the 0-1 goal arrived, following a loss of possession in their own half that led to the organization of the visitors' attack. It was Larrubia who fired past Dinko Horkas to score the opening goal of the match.

The Málaga goal was a significant setback just as Las Palmas was gaining momentum. Luis García made substitutions in an attempt to spark a reaction from the home team. Las Palmas gave their all on the field but could not find a way to at least equalize the match. Horkas, on the other hand, made a great save near the end of the game, preventing a second goal from a shot by Brasanac.

In the final minutes, youth player Iván Medina made his debut, a day he will surely remember in his future sporting career.
