UD Las Palmas agrees loan deal with Hamburg for Croatian international Halilović

Alen Halilović (born in Dubrovnik, 18 June 1996) has played on nine occasions for the full Croatia side, and is currently with Hamburg SV from the German Bundesleague. Halilović started his footballing career in the lower leagues of Dinamo Zagreb. In the 2013 / 2014 season, FC Barcelona acquired the property of rights for the 20 year old Balcan future star. He made his debut with the Catalonian team in a cup game against Elche CF.

Halilović is a skilfull attacking player, who has experience of Spanish football, both in the second and first divisions. Last season he went out on loan to Sporting de Gijón, where he played 36 games, scoring 3 goals. Last summer FC Barcelona transferred him to Hamburg, the team who has in turn loaned him out to UD Las Palmas. Part of the deal includes a clause for the yellows to buy him outright at any period during the loan.

Halilović flies in to Gran Canaria today, at 21.55, on a direct flight from Hamburg. Once he has got through the medical check tomorrow morning at 08.00 at the Perpetuo Socorro Hospital, he will be officially introduced to the press at 12.30, at the Estadio Gran Canaria.
