UD Las Palmas player Sergio Barcia spoke to the media this Thursday, ahead of the match between UD Las Palmas and UD Almería, this Saturday, September 27, at 20:00. Barcia stated that he expects "a very tough match, we know how great a rival Almería is, they have a great squad. We want to be strong at home and we hope to get the three points."

"This is a long journey, we don't have to lose our heads. The second division is a league where teams go through many streaks, both good and bad," he added.

These were some of his statements:

"I am very happy, we are all doing things well. I came to try to help, make things difficult for the coach, and above all, contribute."

"We are playing a style of football that benefits me, I can contribute a lot to the team. Luis García is very demanding, and that benefits all of us. What he asks of me is aggressiveness and demands that we have ball control and personality."

"We are a team that creates a lot of chances up front, and we are clear that the fewer chances we allow, the more likely we are to keep a clean sheet."

"If you think only four players defend, it becomes very complicated because eleven players attack you. When we have to suffer, we are capable of winning duels, we have a lot of options."

"We are a team that likes to have the ball, we are very good at it, and it is a point in our favor."

"It is too early to label Saturday's match as a clash of contenders. The league is very long, and we need to remain calm and stable. Take it week by week, preparing for the matches and not looking beyond that."

"There is no single leader; we all try to help. I like to try to help my teammates, we communicate a lot on the field."
