Las Palmas bids farewell to Marbella with a defeat against Neom (0-1)

UD Las Palmas bids farewell to the training camp in Marbella with a friendly defeat against Neom SC (0-1), the eighth-placed team in last season's Saudi Pro League. The only goal of the hot morning came at the start of the match. Rubén de la Barrera's players had some chances, including a shot off the post by Carlos Navarro.

Once again, Las Palmas had to face another preparation match trailing on the scoreboard from very early on. The Saudi team took the lead in the 8th minute, after a steal in the islanders' defensive zone, a quick counterattack, and a finish by Said Benrahma at the goalmouth.

The equalizer was close in the 17th minute, when a play finished by Jesé forced goalkeeper Bulka to intervene, diving to clear the ball off the goal line.

After the hydration break, with precise instructions from the coach, Las Palmas improved their attack with two more chances to level the score. First, it was Jefté, with a shot blocked by the goalkeeper. A minute later, Carlos Navarro tried from a distance. The left-footed center-back's attempt was deflected by a post of the Saudi team.

The first half ended with a 0-1 score, and in the second half, despite numerous substitutions, the scoreboard remained unchanged, even with new tactical instructions during the second break. Up to that point, the best chance was for the opponent, but goalkeeper Adri Suárez managed to stop it by guessing the direction of the shot in the 47th minute.

In the second half, substitutions were made without the score changing, despite the significant effort in the game, which decreased compared to the first half. Suárez thwarted the best chances in the Saudi team's attacks.
