Magüi Melián, CEO of Domingo Alonso, was in charge of opening the event, highlighting the bond that unites the company with the yellow entity. "It is an honor to be here welcoming Sergio. We are delighted to be part of this moment. Next year we will celebrate 30 years as sponsors, and we already feel UD Las Palmas as our home," she stated.

Next, the sports director of UD Las Palmas, Luis Helguera, took the floor and valued the return of the Cantabrian midfielder. "We present Sergio, a player everyone knows. He returns with a greater degree of maturity, and we are convinced that he will bring a lot of dynamism and quality to the game. He signs for two seasons, with an optional third, and we believe he will be a fundamental piece in the development of the season," he explained.

Sergio Ruiz acknowledged that his return is due to both sporting and personal reasons. "Everyone wants to be where they feel loved and important, and here I feel that way," he affirmed.

The midfielder assured that returning to Gran Canaria means reconnecting with a very special place for him. "Coming back is reconnecting with many people I hold dear. I enjoyed playing football here a lot, and I hope to do so again, giving my best version. I return with more experience and a great desire to contribute my bit," he said.

Ruiz confessed to feeling especially excited about starting this new stage. "I am very happy. I want to enjoy playing football again, and I believe this is the best place to do it," he indicated.

The footballer also highlighted the importance of maintaining the foundation of the sports project. "I believe continuity is very important. Teams that have maintained a competitive core have achieved their goals. Here there is a very good foundation, and hopefully, we can have a very beautiful season," he said.

Additionally, he acknowledged that his previous stint at the club left him with a special motivation to return. "My first year was fantastic in terms of performance. The end was a bit grayer, and I have always had that thorn of being able to give back all the affection I received during the difficult moments."

Regarding the style of play, Ruiz emphasized the importance of preserving a defined identity. "I really like what I see. It is essential for a team to have a clear identity and for the fans to feel connected to what they see on the pitch," he underlined.

Finally, he valued the experience gained over the past years and the atmosphere he found during his previous time on the island. "All the experiences have made me grow as a player and as a person. I will try to help the younger players because the important thing is for the team to function. When you are far from home, you need to feel supported, and here I always found a family. I am also very happy to reconnect with teammates like Kirian, Enzo, or Álex Suárez, with whom I shared very good moments."

Sergio Ruiz thus embarks on a new stage as a player for UD Las Palmas with the goal of bringing experience, leadership, and quality to the yellow midfield.
