Raúl Fernández-Cavada (born 13/03/1988) comes into the UD Las Palmas fold for the next three years, following a deal struck between both clubs. Fernández arrives on the island on a free transfer from Levante UD.

The goalkeeper began his career in the youth setup at Athletic Club, the team he made his first division debut with in the 2010/2011 season, where he also featured in several Europa League matches, in the 11/12 and 12/13 seasons. In the 13/14 season he was loaned out to CD Numancia, before moving on to other clubs including Racing de Santander, Real Valladolid and CD Mirandés, from where he joined Levante UD in the 16/17 season. He helped Levante to promotion, earning the Trofeo Zamora award along the way, by virtue of conceding the fewest goals. In the 17/18 season he played in 11 LaLiga matches and two Spanish Cup matches, racking up a total of 1,170 minutes for the club in both competitions.

Fernández passed his medical at the Hospital Perpetuo Socorro and at 16.30 will be unveiled to the media in the press room at the Estadio Gran Canaria.
