Pepe Mel: “We represent a great club and we are just not good enough”

Las Palmas’ manager was self-critical with his team’s performance this afternoon at the Carlos Belmonte and stated “we need to be more forceful in both areas, both when defending and when attacking”.

Pepe Mel believed his team did the hardest thing, saying “we equalized twice against a side who are playing really well. There were periods of the game in which we were on top but the final result has a lot to do with how both teams are going right now”.

“The team needs to look beyond whether we are looking at relegation as we represent a great club and we are just not doing well enough” responded the yellows’ trainer.

Pepe Mel made it clear he would sit down and “analyse in peace and quiet what happened in order to reach conclusions”.
