Paco Herrera: "That’s the best first half performance I have seen since I have been here"

Las Palmas’ manager said he saw his side’s best first half performance this evening since he returned to the club, stating "this is what I am seeing in training, we just need to extend this level of performance to 70 minutes".

Paco Herrera stated that victory was very important for morale, but it was not enough to pick up three points at home, and that "now is the time we need to win away from home", adding "in the second half they were the better side but fortunately our defence stood up to the task".

His side had several chances to kill the game off, and Herrera analyzed this point, saying: "we missed five goal scoring chances but I am still working on the team putting in better performance levels for longer periods in matches. What we saw in the first half is what I see every day in training".

Momo and Araujo came on the pitch in the second half, and the manager explained "we needed more possession, and Momo is really good for us in that respect. I was clear from the start I was going to bring Araujo on", he concluded in the press room at the Estadio Gran Canaria.
