Pepe Mel: "There are players who have come up from the second team who don’t look out of place"

UD Las Palmas manager Pepe Mel said today following the last league game of the season that "we will try to put together the strongest team possible. There are players who have come up from the second team who don’t look out of place".

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

Referring to this evening’s game against CD Numancia, he said: "We played really well for 25 minutes in the first half. The two lads who started the match have done really well, although the game took its toll on them a little. Kirian looks a good player. He makes it look very simple, which is the most difficult thing in football. So does Fabio. Toni Robaina offers other qualities. We add them to the cause, as well as others who are fighting to be a part of it. There are a lot of Canary players playing and we want them to do well", he stated.

The Madrid-born manager reminded everyone that “we came here at quite a tricky time. The situation we found was very different from the one in the summer. We have used the last three months to observe and to draw conclusions with regard to the future. We have brought in some new faces and they have slotted in. We now have a long summer ahead of us and a lot of work to do," he stressed.

He concluded by adding: "All the players could be on the way out, due to the problems UD Las Palmas has. David Timor is a fine player. We have to adjust our budget to professional league standards. We shall try to put together the strongest team possible".
