Pepe Mel: “The team is finding a style of play it feels comfortable with”

Las Palmas trainer Pepe Mel said his team were slowly “slotting into a comfortable style. I am happy with the last three games we have played”.

He said that this week, with two matches at stake, that “we will be using the whole squad. We have competed well with the players we have used but there are other players who have been working really hard”, adding: “the competition between them for places makes for a better squad”. 

“You can never say there are easy teams in the second division” he pointed out. As for the next rivals, Ponferradina, he said “they are a good side. They get forward really quickly and they are playing happy in the knowledge they have just been promoted”. Despite taking a close look at his rivals, Mel is clear that his team “needs to be one hundred percent up for it. We go out and try to win all our games”. 

To end with he spoke of the team’s lack of luck away from home, saying “we haven’t come away with good results but we haven’t deserved to lose those matches. We will try to reproduce the good things we did against Girono” he stated.
