Pepe Mel: “The second half was a disaster”

Las Palmas’ manager asked his fans for forgiveness for his team’s second half performance “because the goals we conceded were a disaster and we were to blame for how the game went. We just stood there watching the first goal”.

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

Pepe Mel was in a serious mood in his post-match press conference following his team’s crashing defeat this afternoon in El Molinón, stating "it is no good having possession and controlling the pace of the match if in the moment of truth you do not score".

"I have said all I have needed to say to my players. The club has blind faith in the technical team, now it is down to the players to show they want it and to demonstrate this faith” Mel continued. His assessment of the game was that "we were lacking at both ends of the pitch".

To end with he reiterated what he has spoken of previously, that "we missed clear cut chances", adding "it is inexplicable to go in at half time feeling really positive and then for what happened at the start of the second half to have occurred".
