Paco Jémez: "We need to focus exclusively on Sevilla"

UD Las Palmas manager Paco Jémez said today "we need to focus our attention entirely on the game against Sevilla. Whatever happens after Saturday with Jonathan Viera remains to be seen".

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

Las Palmas trainer Paco Jémez made it clear today that he is relying on Jonathan Viera for tomorrow’s clash against Sevilla FC: "I cannot be concerned about Jonathan Viera’s future until after the match on Saturday. My life ends this Saturday. From then on we can start talking. I have spoken to the player and with the president, and with the director general too. The matter does not depend on me. I am only concerned with how we play against Sevilla. Once it is over, we can talk about the other business".
"The only thing this situation can cause is to upset our concentration on what really matters. From my point of view Jonathan can play against Sevilla. That’s what I am interested in. Thereafter we will consider our options. It is a very delicate matter and doesn’t merit any further speculation", he confirmed.
The yellows’ trainer underlined "if we win we could get out of a delicate situation. We need to beat Sevilla playing our own way. I can see my players are up for it, and are raring to go to win this match".
Referring to Emenike he said he was better now in terms of his weight but his knee is still stopping him from training, he is having to sit out training", while he also admitted, that due to the niggles Peñalba is suffering, that Etebo might play as a holding midfielder. The absence of Pedro Bigas clears the way for the centre back partnership of Gálvez-David García.
Latest signing Ezekiel is also in the squad. "He is a different kind of alternative to Calleri. He can play wide or up front. He may get some match time, he is fit but hasn’t trained that much. He will give us that little bit extra", he concluded.
