Paco Herrera: "Victory would be my best birthday present"

Paco Herrera has no doubts about his line-up. "I may go for two different players in several situations and positions. If Lemos doesn’t play at right back I have Diego Parras or David García as cover. I know the latter very well. But in my time we used him as a central defender because he was more comfortable there. There a number of other positions for which I can choose between several different players, but there is no doubt in my mind. I have to assess in what state each one is in", he acknowledged.

The manager pointed out "if all goes to plan in the final training session" he will be able to count on Galarreta. "I think he will be fit in time. We can count on him if nothing crops up. I have to decide if he is fit enough before I risk playing him. It is not an excuse to play him from the start or to put him on the bench", he admitted.

Regarding tomorrow’s opponents, Real Oviedo, he likened them to Cádiz. "I know Anquela really well, and I admire him, he is a great trainer. I think he will play with five at the back, but the wing backs will join the attack when needed. They will put three or four players in the middle of the park and one or two up front. Oviedo defend well down the middle, and it is hard to make space there. I am expecting a tough match and for me it will be a test of where we want to be". He also reflected, "We have a great squad, with very good footballers, but we don’t have a team. After our defeat the other day I have to demand more of myself in order to assemble a recognizable team that we all want", he concluded.
