Mateo García transferred to Red Star Belgrade

UD Las Palmas and Red Star Belgrade today signed a deal to transfer Argentine player Mateo García, in an operation that will earn a net fee of 1.5 million euros for the yellows.

Argentine player Mateo García has been transferred to Red Star Belgrade, for a net fee of 1.5 million euros. García was born in the city of Córdoba, and began his football training at Instituto de Córdoba. In the 2016/2017 season he signed for UD Las Palmas. He featured in 23 games and scored four goals. He spent the first part of the 2017/18 season on loan at Club Atlético Osasuna. The following season he played for AD Alcorcón, in another loan deal.

The Argentine midfielder was a star performer last season in the Greek Aris League, where he matured as a player, scoring 11 goals in 32 games for Salónica, and helped them quality for the Europa League. Mateo García has signed for four seasons for Red Star, and has signed forms just in time to be able to play for the historic team in their play off for the UEFA Champions League.
