Manolo Jiménez was blunt in his assessment of his team tonight, saying “Rayo Majadahonda were better than us in the first half”, adding “I am not at all satisfied”.
“We needed to show we wanted to progress in the Cup, but we didn’t. We lacked intensity” stated the yellows’ trainer.
The Cup was important for Jiménez so as to keep fringe players playing competitive football and to give them valuable playing time, but he recognised that “now it will be harder to choose my starting line-up. I have complete confidence in my squad”.
