Luis García: "The players have turned problems into fuel, they have tried to give their best"
The coach stated, "The players have given their all. I am very proud of my players, and we are leaving with a very valuable point under unfair conditions."
Luis García attended the media who gathered in the press room of the Alfonso Murube Stadium. He began the press conference by mentioning the conditions and difficulties of traveling to Ceuta and the wear and tear his team suffered, stating: "I think that when a club does everything in its power to attend a match in the best conditions, as was our case, and spends money to fly on a charter to come and play a good game, knowing that they had a great opponent in front of them, and even then it is not enough... There were other players who had to take another route and also did not arrive in optimal conditions. We were told that on the boat, chairs were flying through the air. They were at the maritime port from six in the morning to be able to leave."
"But I'm not just talking about my players, I'm talking about another team as important as the refereeing team, who are then expected to make the right decisions, to be fine, not to make mistakes, and to try to impart justice. Do you really think a referee is capable of imparting justice after being stranded at a dock from six in the morning to catch a boat and the first three-quarters of an hour of the journey being absolute chaos? It makes no sense," he concluded.
Some of his statements:
"I want to thank Ceuta for empathizing with us, for helping us and understanding the situation. I am sure that this club will do very well in life, and I wish them all the best."
"I think we played a good game, we created situations in the final third to cause damage. We found many free players. The goal action was very good. From the sixtieth minute, the energy levels were what they were due to all the circumstances. Professional football requires rest and being at the highest level; otherwise, you don't play under the same conditions."
"I leave happy because I am very fortunate to coach these players, to be in this club, and to see how they push every day. No one has complained about anything. They have a lot of ambition. I am sure this team will stay united until the last day."
