The fourth friendly of the season matched the usual intensity of derbies, just like in official matches between the two representatives of the Canary Islands. For this, UD Las Palmas presented a compact block at Los Cuartos, where the presence of youth player Ale García on one of the wings once again stood out, consolidating his impressive performances during the training camp in Andalusia.

The yellows did not shy away from playing the ball from the last defensive position, that of Dinko Horkas. Their opponent tested them with high and active pressing, managing to recover some risky balls. It was Tenerife who first came close to scoring with three shots that the Croatian goalkeeper managed to control with his interventions. Two of the attempts came from former yellow player Nacho Gil, and the third from De Miguel.

However, Las Palmas had plenty of possession in the first half, though not with the desired depth. They succeeded in creating the only play that ended in the back of the Orotava nets. That action was finished by Iván Gil, after receiving a deep and backheel pass from his teammate Jeremía Recoba. The Uruguayan's technical gesture managed to unsettle the blanquiazul defensive line.

Ale García's incursions down the right wing and some new attempts by Recoba were the next opportunities for the Gran Canaria team to increase the score. However, it is also true that Tenerife regained their footing in the match, with Alassan once again testing Horkas.

In the 36th minute, it was De Miguel who managed to score, but the referee disallowed the blanquiazul goal for a clear offside in the conclusion of a play that had also been deflected by the active Horkas.

Las Palmas increased their dominance in the second half, characterized by numerous substitutions on both sides. García Fernández's players improved significantly, controlled the game with greater authority, and enjoyed a high percentage of possession. They also created chances...

Goalkeeper De Vuyts then became the protagonist. He prevented the possible second goal for the Gran Canaria team on several occasions. The goalkeeper made a double save on consecutive shots from Jaime Mata. Later, he also denied success to Pejiño, who had found a spot outside the box for his characteristic left-footed shot. Even before that play, Tenerife's right post had deflected a missile from Iván Gil, who was seeking his brace in his first derby with UD.

Tenerife found everything going their way in the final stretch of the match when it seemed the trophy might travel to Gran Canaria. Cervera's team equalized in extra time with a cross-shot from Fran Sabina. They then secured victory in the penalty shootout lottery.
