"Andrés is a very versatile player, capable of performing in all four positions of the defensive line. We wanted to bring in players with a bit more height, and we are very happy with his arrival," said Helguera during the presentation.

For his part, the player acknowledged facing this new challenge with excitement and ambition: "I am very excited to be part of this project and very eager. The first days are always about adaptation, but I can't wait to get started."

Rodríguez described himself as a player "with a lot of hunger, physicality, and versatility," assuring that he comes to UD Las Palmas with the intention of contributing to the team: "I am here to help the team and to be wherever the coach needs me."

The defender also highlighted the significance of joining the yellow club. "Personally, it is a very important step, especially being in a club like UD Las Palmas, which is a national benchmark. It is a very exciting challenge," he stated.

Regarding his arrival at the club, he explained that the interest arose during the past season and that he had no doubts when he learned of the club's interest. "In January, my agent told me that UD Las Palmas was interested. Once the club's name was on the table, there was no other option," he confessed.

As for his goals, the new yellow player opted for caution. "I am not someone who sets a specific goal. I am here to contribute and take it step by step. We all get excited about big things, but the important thing is to work every day," he said.

Regarding the competition within the squad, Rodríguez said he faces it naturally: "Competition always exists, and it is important in football. I am here to grow as a player, and I will be wherever the coach thinks I can help the team the most."

The player also had words for the new coaching staff, with whom he has already completed his first training sessions. "The coach is someone who is going to demand a lot from us. The first contact has been very good, and it excites all of us. It is going to be a demanding year, but also a very beautiful one," he concluded.
