Las Palmas achieves an inspiring victory at Leganés' home ground (0-1)

UD Las Palmas secured their second away victory this Saturday, the third of the current season. They achieved it at CD Leganés' home ground (0-1), with a new goal from youth academy player Ale García. García Fernández's players displayed two versions during the match at Butarque: a challenging first half, where the scoreline was the best aspect, and a second half with dominance, a goal, chances, and even numerical superiority.

The yellows were not comfortable in the first 20 minutes of the game, with an opponent applying ambitious pressure in the attacking zone. Las Palmas struggled to bring the ball out from the depths of the field, failing to connect between their players to advance with possession.

The only unsettling moment of this phase of the match was a corner kick headed by central defender Jorge Sáenz, which did not find Horkas's goal. As the minutes passed, the visiting forwards managed on several occasions to surpass the last defensive line of Leganés. However, in all those instances, the referees raised the flag to signal offsides by Lukovic.

García Fernández's team was in patience mode, enduring the incisive start of their opponent. Their attempts in the first half were on the edge of the visitors' last line. On five occasions, Lukovic saw assistant referee José Antonio Sánchez raise the flag to signal offsides, even in plays that had ended in one-on-one situations with goalkeeper Soriano.

The goalless draw remained at halftime, although in the 28th minute, Leganés managed to score through Diawara. The referee and his VAR assistant detected an initial offside (by Miguel) in the first action of the attack, with the forward's influence leading to the annulment of the 1-0.

Leganés still had a second opportunity to score, through a shot by striker Miguel. But Dinko Horkas saved the ball with his glove, stretching low to the ground.

The inclusion of Viera in the second half and adjustments in the defensive system changed the face of the match. And for Las Palmas, because in six minutes, UD managed to open the scoring. The 0-1 was signed by Ale García with an assist from Manu Fuster, who found a lane for his young teammate's run.

The hot afternoon became even more complicated for the Madrid team. Their midfielder Cissé took a risk by committing a foul on Barcia and received a second yellow card with half an hour left. Las Palmas found themselves with the lead and numerical superiority in the final stretch of the match.

Las Palmas could have scored a second goal in the final stretch after creating several dangerous counterattacks through Jesé. However, the finishing of those plays, while threatening, did not achieve the desired success. Nevertheless, the points fly to Gran Canaria with full honors. And the clean sheet ...
