UD remains unbeaten as a visitor after their match in Granada (0-0)
UD Las Palmas maintains its status as an undefeated team away from home in the 2025-26 season. This Friday, the yellows (wearing the sky blue of Marino) secured a goalless draw at Los Cármenes (0-0) in a match that brought the bad news of Jeremía Recoba's injury in the second half.
However, despite the scoreline not changing, the match was characterized by an intense battle during the 96 minutes of the Nazarí night.
In five minutes, two early chances arrived. First through Sola, with a long-range shot that Horkas deflected when barely 25 seconds had passed. Then the yellows responded with a brilliant play by Ale García, whose pass was finished by Lorenzo Amatucci. The Italian's shot went just wide of the post after deflecting off a local defender.
Each team's game plan was clear from the start. Las Palmas had to find solutions for their ball distribution from the defensive zone. And, in the opponent's half, they needed to find lanes for the runs of Park, García, and Iván Gil.
The visitors' second opportunity came in the 16th minute, with a shot by Ale García that also came close to one of the posts. The same player had a better chance in the 24th minute, following a service in the area by Manu Fuster. García managed to shoot, but he didn't strike the ball firmly, allowing the debutant Iker García to make the save.
The first half ended with the score tied, although before its conclusion, goalkeeper Iker García kept his goal intact by punching away a direct corner that Iván Gil tried to convert into an Olympic goal. It was the last dangerous situation for the yellows, as the clock showed the 40th minute.
Granada was the first to threaten again in the second half, with a play finished by former yellow Sergio Ruiz. But the ball went wide in front of Horkas.
García Fernández made another move from the bench with a triple substitution for the final stretch, bringing Kirian, Alex Suárez, and Pejiño onto the field. However, a few minutes later came the concerning news of Recoba's injury, who had to be replaced by Jaime Mata.
Neither team let up in the final stages of the match, maintaining defensive precautions at all times. However, they also failed to alter the initial scoreline, with no clear chances to beat the goals of García or Horkas. The draw might have been the fairest outcome for a match between two teams with their own aspirations.
