Sandro: "We want to keep showing that we can challenge the big teams."

The Amarillo striker emphasized that he approaches the match at Santiago Bernabéu "with the same enthusiasm and excitement, preparing well during the week. We’re focusing on ourselves and continuing to improve so we can put in a good performance."

Sandro Ramírez spoke at a press conference ahead of the match against Real Madrid. The striker said he expects "an exciting and thrilling game for us, on a big stage. We’re eager to compete, as we always do, and to keep showing that we’re a team capable of making things difficult for the big clubs."

Here are some of his statements:

"I think numbers speak for themselves, especially for a striker. Personally, I’m happy to have the consistency that I’ve lacked in previous years to show my best version. For me, the most important thing is to help the team, whether it’s by scoring goals or through hard work."

"The loss to Getafe hurt us. We were really eager and had high expectations to win. We had the chance to go ahead, missed a penalty, and that left us a bit deflated. With Januzaj’s goal, you saw the team push forward, and the feeling was that if the game had lasted five or ten more minutes, we could have equalized. Penalties are missed sometimes, and it’s no big deal—that’s football."

"Everyone knows what kind of team Real Madrid is. Vinícius might not be playing, but they have other incredible players. We’re focusing on the areas where we believe we can hurt them."

"Nothing in my routine has changed. I’m still taking care of myself the same way. Maybe it’s also a mental thing. In football, that can sometimes be a taboo topic, but it’s much more important than people think. I’m getting more continuity, and you’re seeing my best version."

"In the first leg, we played well at home, we were precise with the ball, and we knew how to attack at the right moments. That’s the plan again: keep possession, be effective in both penalty areas—that’s where games are won."

"Our assessment of the first half of the season is positive. Considering how we started, we’d gladly take how we’ve performed. We’re having a great season, and we need to keep working with the same ambition and drive to finish as high as possible."
