Rafa Mir has recently arrived at the island of Gran Canaria and has talked of his loan deal with the club, saying "I know that there is competition for places up front but that is good for me because I am a young player and can learn a whole lot. I wouldn’t like to define a specific role because I can play in a range of positions up front".

"I want to achieve what the club, team and fans want, to gain promotion to the First Division. The pressure is on, but we need to be positive, by doing the right things we can achieve what we want" stated the player, referring to what he hopes to achieve at Las Palmas.

The striker did not want to set a target of goals he would want to score for his team, rather the total for the team as a whole, "I don’t look for individual honours, I am a true team player.
