The yellows’ trainer said "I am pleased with the team’s attitude, especially when we were not on the ball, but we need to keep putting in a lot of hard work", adding "the team looked good, have played a great match, and victory will give us great confidence".

Regarding the early goal they conceded, Paco Jémez said "that’s one of the positives to have come out of the match, as we were able to assert ourselves and tonight we looked like we had much more composure. I can understand that the players could get a little nervous when we were ahead, but I wanted us to go out and try for a third goal right until the end".

Regarding the possible departure of Mauricio Lemos, he stated "we haven’t decided anything yet, I am not going to let a player go without a suitable replacement". Referring to his starting line-up tonight, he said "we took a risk by putting Tana and Jonathan in front of Peñalba, because we had more attacking options, but Tana amazed me and played a superb match".

Paco Jémez was also grateful for the vociferous fans. "Their cheering support definitely helped us tonight" he concluded in the press room at the Estadio Gran Canaria.
