Paco Herrera: “We need to make our chances count if we are to climb the table”

Las Palmas’ manager acknowledged his side had a good first half, in which they could have scored at least three goals, saying “in the most ridiculous of situations we allowed them to get back in the game with their equalizer”.

Paco Herrera lamented that lack of sharpness in front of goal in his analysis of the first half, stating “we could have scored three or four goals. We were the better side”. He went on to say “in the second half we wanted to get forward but the sending off of Gaby knocked us back. We were struggling in that position”.

“We need to pause our play and we are not doing it. I will continue to work so that we can be a more recognisable side”, he responded. The yellows’ trainer attempted to explain the improvement his team have made since he arrived at the club, saying “whoever we play against we are the ones creating chances. I have achieved balance in the team but we are still need to improve in certain areas”.

Herrera once again stated he had full confidence in his squad, and stressed “we are going to get things right. I shall continue to try to do more things because I like my teams to keep possession and dominate matches”, he concluded in the press room at the Estadio de Gran Canaria.
