UD wins at home against Granada and continues its path in the battle for promotion (2-0)

UD Las Palmas regained the rhythm of victory this Maundy Thursday at the Estadio de Gran Canaria with a 2-0 win over Granada, secured in the second half with goals from Miyashiro and Cristian Gutiérrez. The yellows ensured the points of the matchday with another clean sheet for Horkas, along with sacrifice and discipline to contain the opponent when they tried to equalize.

The match began with two very early scares for the Gran Canaria team. In the 2nd minute, Granada stole the ball near the area, connecting with Pablo. The forward scored, but after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed due to an initial offside by his teammate Jorge Pascual.

Before they could recover from the first scare, the second moment of alarm arrived. Pablo himself, from the right, delivered a low cross that rolled through the area, hit the post, and then fell into Horkas' hands.

The third piece of news from the match was also not positive for UD Las Palmas, as Loiodice had to leave the field injured in the 8th minute after a play involving attacker Arnaiz. The Frenchman immediately requested a substitution due to an injured ankle. Kirian Rodríguez came on in his place before the clock had even reached 10 minutes of play.

Discomfort dominated the island team's play for almost the entire first half, with less ball possession and more passing inaccuracies than usual. This was also due to the ambitious pressing of the Nazarí team.

The first chance came for Miyashiro after a play by Iker Bravo. The Japanese player finished the attack with a hard, sharp shot that went just over Astralaga's crossbar.

Following that play, García Fernández's team found their rhythm and managed to maneuver in the opponent's half, finishing the first half with better sensations and the score still intact.

The opening and hopeful goal came early in the second half, after a corner headed by Mika Mármol and finished on the goal line by the Japanese player Taisei Miyashiro. The 1-0 was celebrated enthusiastically, a treasure with which to face the second half with a different outlook.

Ale García unsuccessfully claimed a pull in the area by Williams as he approached the final meters. It was the 57th minute, and the home team had managed to change the course of the match.

In the final stretch, as happened against Sporting, Las Palmas worked collectively to preserve the valuable goal by the Japanese player Taisei. And as the match was coming to an end after a phase of defensive containment, Cristian Gutiérrez took advantage of a rebound from the goalkeeper to score the 2-0 and secure the victory with a sense of calm.
