Pepe Mel: “I look forward to the future with a smile”

The Madrid-born trainer showed himself to be pleased with his contract renewal and hints at a bright future for the yellows, because as he put it “the club has a hard-working streak”.

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

Pepe Mel stated: “the future begins tomorrow. There are lads who are going to play who I want to see playing together, such as Kirian y Toni Robaina”.

Regarding tomorrow’s game against Numancia at Los Pajaritos stadium, he said “the team will be competing hard because it is in the interests of the club to finish as high as possible in the league”, adding that Numancia “are a good side and I need to see players competing in official matches”.

As for next season, Mel said: “I will apply all my experience to make next year a more successful one. We are excited about inaugurating our Sports Facilities”, while he added that Benito (on loan at Majadahonda), Parras (on loan at Real Murcia) and Edu Espiau (second team striker) “will be starting pre-season with the first team”, while stating that “the money situation bears greater relevance over the sporting situation as we put together a new squad. It is a mistake to bring in 10 or 15 new faces as we have done up until now”.

To finish with Pepe Mel made it clear that “promotion shouldn’t be an objective, but that doesn’t mean we won’t go out there and compete for everything”, adding “we are working as a team, from Rocco to Toni Otero to put together a project that will get everyone excited”.
