Pepe Mel spoke of the squad he has chosen for the game tomorrow against Almería, saying “it is the time to bring in the youth players. These kinds of matches are good for them and I would like to see more of them but the rules limit us”. He added “Josep, Cristian Cedrés and Fabio will all be in the starting line-up tomorrow”.

“The future of the club is in the hands of the young lads and that is something I Iike”, he responded optimistically as he looks ahead to the future of Las Palmas. As for his personal situation he was clear, saying, “I have a contract that runs until 30th June and I am working with my mind on staying at this club. Many people want me to stay, over and above the results we have had”.

The manager learned of the sad news of the death of Sevilla footballer Sevilla, José Antonio Reyes, of whom he was a great friend, and sent a message of condolence to his family, to the club and “to the footballing world for having lost a great player”.
